How do I add an artist to my favorites?

You can add an artist by clicking on the heart icon with a plus sign. This icon can be found on the artist index page as well as on the page of an artist not listed on your favorites.

How do I remove an artist from my favorites?

You can remove an artist from your favorites by clicking the remove favorite link under the artist you want to remove in the favorites section of the sidebar.

How do I add a reminder?

You can add a reminder by viewing the Releases or Shows index, as well as the Skua page for a release or show. Click the “Add reminder” link under the entry's information. Your reminders are marked with a heart icon to the right of the entry.

How do I remove a reminder?

You can remove a reminder from your reminders list, which can be viewed by clicking on your username in the navigation. Click the “Remove” link next to the entry's title.

How do I add an artist to the index?

You must be have an account and be signed-in to add an artist to the index. In the sidebar, click on the star icon under “Add to Skua.” Click here if you are signed-in.

How do I add information about an artist?

The artist must be in your favorites for you to add information. In your favorites list, click on the “Add info link” under the artist's title. This will display a page with the artists current information and a form where you can enter your information. The “title” field, for example, could be “Label,” “Genre,” “Sounds similar to,” “Band members,” etc. The “information” field would then be the information you want to add, using the previous examples, “Sub Pop,” “Alternative,” “The Shins,” “Sam Beam,” etc.

How do I add a news story?

You must have an account and be signed-in to add a news story. In the sidebar, click on the speech bubbles icon under “Add to Skua.” Click here if you are signed-in.

How do I add a release?

You must have an account and be signed-in to add a release. In the sidebar, click on the disc icon under “Add to Skua.” Click here if you are signed-in.

How do I add a show?

You must have an account and be signed-in to add a show. In the sidebar, click on the music note icon under “Add to Skua.” Click here if you are signed-in.

How do I edit information about an artist?

The artist must be in your favorites for you to edit information. In your favorites list, click on the “Edit info” link under the artist's title. You'll be brought to a page that displays all of the artists current information where you can update or remove information.

How do I edit news, releases, and shows?

The artist the entry relates to must be in your favorites for you to edit the entry. From the News, Releases, or Shows index page, (or on the Skua page for that entry) Click the “Edit” link under the entry's information.

Can I delete an artist, news story, release, or show?

Once entered into Skua, the entry cannot be deleted by a user. However, all information entered can be edited, and if there is inaccurate information or junk entries posted on Skua, you can mark these items as junk. Click here for more information.

How do I mark a news story, release, or show as junk/not junk?

The artist the entry relates to must be in your favorites for you to mark the entry. From the News, Releases, or Shows index page, Click the “Mark as junk” or “Unmark as junk” link under the entry's information. A user may only mark an entry as junk or unmark an entry as junk once. If an entry has been marked as junk by more users than have unmarked the entry as junk, the entry will be hidden to guests, and hidden by default to users.

How do I hide/show junk entries?

From your users page, click on the preferences link under the header. From this page you can set the visibility of junk entries. Click the save button to save your settings. If junk entries are visible, those entries will be marked with a flag icon to the right of the entry on the entry index pages.
